Vince McMahon: Media’s Fearless Leader

Many CEOs and business owners truly care about the dignity and worth of their companies. Despite recent events such as ENRON’s debacle and the national problems caused by the severe money mismanagement skills of Bernard Madoff, most business related advisors genuinely mean well, if only on a small scale. Many CEO’s are hands on and often spend many sleepless nights strategizing over new business plans. Although most CEO’s are hands on, none are as ruthless, media savvy and proactive as WWE CEO, Vince McMahon.

Growing up around wrestling, Vince McMahon understands what it takes to keep an entertainment organization as such afloat for long existing periods of time. After taking control of the World Wrestling Federation in 1982 from his father, Vincent J. McMahon, McMahon expanded the company nationally. He had the forethought to break away from the strict North American audience that the former wrestling federation formerly considered a safe and steady market.

Monday Night Raw Instigation

Tonight’s RAW kicks off with Chris Jericho and Mike Adamle talking backstage, well, in mid-conversation, bad timing… Jericho says what Adamle did last week was inexcusable. Adamle reminds him he wouldn’t be Champion if it weren’t for him. Adamle says tonight, Jericho will wrestle and Batista will pick his opponent.

Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy vs. Kane and Mark Henry -

Back from commercial and Rey Mysterio is making his way to the ring as Lilian begins introductions. Out next is his partner, ECW Champion Matt Hardy followed by Mark Henry, Tony Atlas and Kane. We see Johnny Knoxville sitting at ringside. The bell rings and it’s Hardy and Henry starting things off with a brawl. Hardy comes off the second rope a few times with an elbow, staggering Henry. DDT on Henry for a 2 count. Hardy misses the Twist of Fate and Kane distracts him, letting Henry lay him out.

Kane comes in and pummels on Hardy for a bit before tagging

Femme Fatale #1

When an obsessed fan of Trish Stratus appeared on RAW on October 10th, 2005, little did anyone expect that she would one day surpass her idol and earn her 4th WWE Women’s Championship in less than three years.

Yet, on hindsight, who is really surprised? Mickie James is, after all, a femme fatale.

Hi, and welcome to the first edition of Femme Fatale, a column that appreciates the finer side of the wrestling world – the women. From WWE Divas to TNA Knockouts, from Joshi Puroresu to G.L.O.R.Y. Girls, I’ll feature the best from the past, present and I’ll even throw in some future predictions. But not every female wrestler qualifies as a femme fatale. No, for someone to be featured, they need to meet two major criteria.

Firstly, they have to be seductive. A true femme fatale is someone who can use her femininity as a weapon. She needs to be someone who is aware of how potent she can become in order to get what she wants, when

Living Your Faith at Work and Wrestling With the Seven Deadly Sins

The list of violations we know today as the Seven Deadly Sins is believed to have been compiled in the first few centuries after the death of Jesus.  But these sins continue to be alive and well in workplaces around the world.

From anger, to envy, to greed, and even sloth, we can  get tripped up by the Seven Deadly Sins in the office and on the shop floor.

Pride – As Al Pacino’s character said in The Devil’s Advocate, “…It’s my favorite sin.” It’s the one that gets us in the most trouble and is interwoven with all the others.  It’s our efforts to soothe, stroke, and magnify our ego that drive us to believe that we’re really the center of the universe and that it’s really all about us.  It’s not.  It’s about God.

Anger – Jesus never asked us to not get angry.  He told us that when we get angry “with cause” we should talk to “our brother”

Wrestling with PS3 Problems? Here is What You Can Do About It

The Sony Playstation 3 had a rocky start and masses of competition, but has increased in popularity since. Despite the increase in technological advancements, the PS3 still has problems that are turning up throughout the world.

One of the major issues the Playstation 3 is encountering is overheating issues. The Playstation 3 does have built in fans to get rid of some of the heat produced during game play, but if the unit is stored in an enclosed space or in an intensely warm environment, the chance of overheating is really possible. Be sure to keep the Playstation 3 in a location were the surplus heat can be correctly vented, and not build up in and around the system itself.

Another of the many PS3 problems is a disk-reading problem. The Playstation 3 not only plays games, but Blu-Ray and DVD’s too. Many users have come across this issue, whereas the Playstation 3 will either display “disk read error” or will not run the disk. Often , this is an

County continues to wrestle with money problem

Sequoyah County Commissioners had to continue dealing with a budget shortfall at their meeting Monday, due in part to the lag in collecting a new half-cent sales tax for the county sheriff and jail operations.

Bruce Tabor, District 1 commissioner, said it was hoped sales tax collection, approved by voters Oct. 13, would begin in November and the tax returned to the county by January. But the Oklahoma Tax Commission informed the county that the tax collection will not begin until January, and the tax returned to the county three months later, in March or even as late as April.

That leaves county government short of money again until the sales tax begins rolling in.

To pay health insurance premiums, the commissioners borrowed ,000 from the court clerk’s office and ,000 from the county’s treasurer’s office from this year’s budget. The ,000 for health insurance benefits must also be approved by the county excise board. Read more..

How Martial Arts Can Help Your Kids Do Better in Everything

Children face a lot of challenges we adults don’t necessarily understand. Young kids deal with pressure from home, school, and their friends; and they also have to deal with decisions they can only make. The dangers of their surroundings such as bullies, gangs, criminals, and strangers add to their everyday concerns and as parents and guardians, we need to make sure that they are equipped with the right mindset and physical wellness to overcome these obstacles.

One effective way of helping our children cope with the world is through martial arts. Martial Arts has been recognized by many communities as a way to give our kids the ability to face these day to day pressures.  One of the more successful and nationally recognized programs is the KickStart program founded by Chuck Norris, actor and martial arts champion. The KickStart program was originally founded to combat drugs and gang recruiting, and is now being taught in over twenty five Houston, TX area

Batista to retire from WWE and pursue acting as a career

Dave Batista has a plan to retire from the wrestling business pretty soon. The news is certainly a big shock for the fans of sports entertainment, but it seems that the speculations are true. Big Dave, indeed, has plans to call it a day sometime in 2010 and WWE will not be happy to announce it for the fans as he is surely one of the most dynamic WWE superstars of this time. His contract with WWE will end soon and Dave is not interested in a renewal. The fans show the retirement of Heart Break Kid only a few months ago and the retirement of another big star in business in the same year may prove to be a severe blow to the company and the ratings.

But for Dave, it’s a smart decision, particularly health wise. In a recent interview, Dave Batista said that he wants to bid a good bye in his prime. He is not interested to hang around even after his body surrenders to take anymore beating. He has several career threatening injuries in his life and his 40 year old

Bret Hart leave WWE for Health Reasons

WWE is facing a double “Hart-ache”! The wrestling legend Bret “the Hitman” Hart has left WWE and at the same time his brother Owen Hart’s widow has dragged Vince McMahon and his company to court. It’s quite some time since Bret and Vince has solved their 12 year long ego-clash and this time, Bret and WWE happily parted their ways. In fact, Bret was very happy with his role as the new Raw GM and wanted to contribute to WWE’s storyline. But this time, the problem was caused by his insurance company.

London’s famous insurance broker Lloyds paid out to Bret Hart as his career was cut short after a series of concussions he suffered inside the WCW ring. But recently, Bret got physically involved in several WWE matches and house shows. He had a fight with Vince in Wrestlemania XXVI. He has also won the United States Championship since his return to WWE. But in both occasions, his physical involvement has been very limited. On last Monday’s Raw, he was “brutally”
